Increased Endgame Rewards Arrive in Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.2
Jonathan Rogers, Game Director of Path of Exile 2, has revealed the major changes included in Patch 0.5.2. The update is now live and brings improvements to several game mechanics, along with balance adjustments, bug fixes, and changes to some of the deadliest monsters in Wraeclast.

Among the highlights are updates to Wisps, changes to Rite of the Nameless, a reduction in Delirium difficulty, adjustments to Remnant rewards, and multiple monster balance changes.
Wisps Now Travel to the Nearest Available Target
With the introduction of mechanics that allow Wisps to leave one monster and move to another target, they would often choose enemies located on the opposite side of the map.
In Patch 0.5.2, this behavior has been changed. Whenever a Wisp leaves a monster, it will now travel to the nearest available target.
According to Jonathan Rogers, this change was made to prevent situations where Wisps would travel long distances across the map after switching targets.
New On the Wind Notable Added to the Passive Skill Tree
Patch 0.5.2 also introduces a new multi-choice Notable called On the Wind to the Passive Skill Tree.
This Notable modifies the behavior of Wisps and offers two options.
50% Increased Wisp Movement Speed
Players can choose to grant Wisps 50% more movement speed.
Prevent Wisps from Dematerializing
The second option prevents Wisps from dematerializing when no players are nearby.
Rite of the Nameless Receives Changes in Ritual
Jonathan Rogers explained that Rite of the Nameless was creating situations where players could be attacked by large numbers of bosses at the same time.
This was especially noticeable in maps containing large numbers of Rogue Exiles or Summoning Circles.
With Patch 0.5.2:
Unique Bosses now spawn in a staggered manner.
These encounters become easier.
Players with very strong builds can continue progressing quickly, as defeating a Unique Boss will cause another one to spawn.
Delirium Difficulty Reduced
Jonathan Rogers stated that Delirium was proving more difficult than other game mechanics.
As a result, the damage scaling caused by progressing deeper into the fog has been reduced by half.
Jonathan also confirmed that additional Delirium improvements are already planned for a future update.
Remnant Rewards Adjusted in Tier 15 Maps
The team also reviewed Remnant encounters.
According to Jonathan Rogers, Remnant rewards were not considered good enough once players reached the highest tiers of maps.
As a result, a large number of less valuable outcomes have been removed from Tier 15 maps.
Jonathan also confirmed that larger changes for both Expedition and Remnants are planned for the next patch.
It That Hates Receives Major Nerfs
The Breach monster known as It That Hates received significant adjustments in Patch 0.5.2.
The changes include:
Significant reduction to Chaos Beam damage.
Removal of its ability to fire chaos projectiles at long range.
According to Jonathan Rogers, It That Hates was responsible for more than 1 million player deaths, making it the deadliest non-boss monster in the game.
Krell Skullcrawler Also Nerfed
The Runic monster Krell Skullcrawler has also been adjusted in Patch 0.5.2.
Its Fireball damage has been significantly reduced.
Jonathan revealed that Krell Skullcrawler was responsible for nearly 500,000 Exile deaths.
Additional Monsters Have Been Adjusted
Jonathan explained that It That Hates and Krell Skullcrawler are only two examples of the monster changes included in the update.
According to him, a significant number of other monsters have also received adjustments.
