A Message from the Game Director
In an official video, Jonathan Rogers, Game Director of Path of Exile 2, shared exciting details about this Free Weekend.
He explained that the servers have been reinforced for launch and that this event is not only a celebration of the new expansion but also a chance to stress-test the servers with a massive surge of players.

Jonathan also confirmed that the special rewards available are purely cosmetic and will not affect your character’s power.

Reach the Clearfell Encampment to unlock the Exile’s Hood.
Defeat the Rotten Druid in the Grim Tangle (Act One) to earn the Exile’s Staff Skin.
