Greetings fellow Path of Exile players! In today's build review, we'll be taking a closer look at the Crackling Lance Elementalist with the Witch Class. Whether you're a seasoned player or just starting out, this post will provide all the necessary information you need to decide if this build is for you.

3.20 Crackling Lance Elementalist – Path of Exile The Forbidden Sanctum

Pros and cons of the Crackling Lance Elementalist build

First off, let's talk about the Crackling Lance skill itself. This skill is incredibly versatile, adapting to your needs as you play. When clearing maps, it hits many targets per cast, but when facing bosses, it becomes a concentrated beam, dealing massive damage. One of the biggest pros of this build is its versatility. With a boost on the area of effect and boss damage already included in the skill, you won't need to swap gems to adapt to different situations. Additionally, this build is very cheap, making it accessible for players of all levels.

Of course, no build is perfect, and there are a few cons to consider. One potential issue is that the change in area and power can be against your will. You may find yourself casting a concentrated beam when you really wanted a wider area of effect. However, this can be easily remedied by taking a few steps with your character. Another potential issue is that to maintain the powerful concentrated beam, you need to stay still. This can put you in a vulnerable position during boss fights, and the lack of evasion and spell suppression can compound this vulnerability.

Budget requirements for the Crackling Lance Elementalist build

In terms of budget, this build is very cheap to get started with. You can easily start destroying early endgame maps with only around 35 chaos. To comfortably advance to yellow maps, you'll need to invest around 100 chaos, and for easily completing your Atlas, I recommend investing around 4 Divines. Here on Poe Builds, you can find a list of all the equipment you need for this build, with direct links to examples being sold by other players.

In terms of clear speed, I give this build a 9 out of 10. The only issue is when you need to cast a few times while standing still, and the area of the effect gets smaller. For boss damage, this build is excellent, and I give it a 9 out of 10. Just remember that you need to cast while standing still to deal the most damage. For survivability, I give this build an 8 out of 10. With almost 50,000 effective HP due to high armor and block chance, it's quite resilient. However, it does need to stand still to deal more damage to bosses, and it doesn't have evasion or spell suppression.
